Thunderbird: Setting up IMAP emails
First make sure that you have created the email account in your Web Hosting Control Panel which would either be WebsitePanel, cPanel or Plesk.NOTE: In the instructions below you should replace domain.com with your registered domain name
- Open Thunderbird (you can download Thunderbird free from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/)
- From the Tools menu select Account Settings.
- Click on Account Actions and select Add Mail Account
- Your name: Enter your name
- Email Address: Enter your full email address e.g. james@company.com
- Password: Enter your password
- Remember Password should be ticked
- Click on Continue
- Click on Manual Config
- For Incoming
- Incoming should be selected as IMAP
- Server Hostname should be mail.domain.com (replace domain.com with your own domain)
- Port should be 143
- SSL should be None
- Authentication should be Normal Password
- For Outgoing
- Server Hostname should be mail.domain.com (replace domain.com with your own domain)
- Port should be 25
- SSL should be None
- Authentication should be Normal Password
